Buyer Questions

  • My Purchases
    • How do I open a ZIP file that I’ve downloaded from Artsy Lane?

A ZIP file is a compressed folder containing multiple files.

Artsy Lane distributes ZIP files when:
      1) You have purchased more than 1 project in an order OR
      2) The project that you purchased has multiple files e.g. a project plan with multiple handout files.

Both Windows and Mac OSX are able to open and uncompress ZIP files without additional software. iPhones and iPads will require an additional app.

      Microsoft Windows:

      • Locate the downloaded zip file on your computer.
      • Right-click on the unopened ZIP folder.
      • Choose “Extract All” from the menu that opens.
      • Choose a destination. By default, the compressed files will extract in the same location as the zip file. You can also click the “Browse” button to select an alternative location e.g. “My Documents”.
      • Check the “Show extracted files when complete” option.
      • Click “Extract”.

      Mac OSX:

      • Locate the downloaded zip file on your computer.
      • Double-click the zip file to start extracting the content of the zip file.
      • When finished, the unzipped contents will appear in the same folder as the original zip file.

      iPhones and iPads:
If you are using an iPhone or iPad, you’ll need to download and install a third-party application in order to open the zip file and view its content. There are many free options in the App Store.

      • After you have the app installed, login and go to your “My Purchases” page. Tap on the “Download” button next to the zipped project.
      • When the download is completed, you’ll be redirected to a page where you can choose how to open the file.
      • Tap on the “Open In” link.
      • Scroll over and choose the zip viewer app that you have installed.
      • You are then presented with the content of the zip file.
